With visitors soon to arrive for the TU annual meeting in September, we have added a new page to the fishing section of our website. This page titled “Local Streams” provides a short description and location map for the N. Mills River, Davidson River, Looking Glass Creek, Avery Creek, and Reems Creek, with the Laurels to be added soon. We’ve already had a few inquiries through the website about where to fish near Asheville, so hopefully this will point our out of town guests in the right direction. We have also added the South Toe River stream gage to our “Streamflow” page. There are a lot of popular streams in that area and this gage serves as a good indicator of streamflows near Mt Mitchell. Remember, the “Streamflow” page is a great resource when you are planning on heading out on a fishing trip. It can be a real disappointment to drive 50 or more miles only to find the stream too low or too high to be fishable. So make a habit of checking the website before you head out for a day of fishing.
