Last Thursday and Friday LOSTU members pitched in to help plant trees and shrubs along the lower stretch of DH water on the North Mills River.   Good deeds were rewarded with good weather and temps in the low 60’s made the work unseasonably pleasant.  This effort complements stream work done on the stretch of water below the main parking lot and will serve to stabilize and enhance the riparian vegetation zone that is so important to trout-quality water.  So some day when a careless back-cast hangs you up in a tree you can pause to remember that it’s there for good reason and feel better that you or an LOSTU friend may have actually been the one who put it there!
