Dear Land O’ Sky Trout Unlimited Members,
Now that we are thawing out from a long cold winter and getting back onto our home waters, it is time to start thinking about where we should be putting our conservation efforts. This summer we will be working with the Forest Service to stabilize the stream bank, repair erosion and prevent further sedimentation of the South Mills River near the Turkey Pen Trailhead. This will help improve this beautiful wild trout stream.
With that in the works, now is the time to start the planning process for this fall and next spring’s conservation efforts and each and every one of you are our eyes and ears on the water. So over the coming months when you pull on your waders take a minute or two to look around for issues that may be negatively impacting our fishing experience such as trail or campsite erosion, culverts that prevent fish passage, and runoff from roads or agricultural areas.
If you find something that needs attention please email your Land O’ Sky Conservation Chair, Matt Allenbaugh at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks and happy fishing.
