For the last two summers, Land O’ Sky TU members have worked with Great Smoky Mountain National Park (GRSM) fishery biologists on brook trout restoration in the Smokies. An update on that work has been published in the GRSM fisheries newsletter The Stream Guardian, which we’ve posted here. We encourage you to check it out, it’s a great read.
If you are interested in learning more about this work and trout in the Smokies, please join us at the March 12 chapter meeting at REI Asheville, at 7 pm. Matt Kulp, Supervisory Fishery Biologist at GRSM, will be joining us to speak about that topic and answer your questions.
If you are interested in participating in the 2019 summer activity doing this work with some terrific people in the Park Service, please contact our Conservation Chair, Jay Hawthorne, at firstname.lastname@example.org or find him at the March 12 meeting.
